Location
The Palm Beach County Convention Center is conveniently located in central Palm
Beach County, Florida, only three miles from Palm Beach International Airport
(PBIA).
The 19-acre site, at the corner of Okeechobee Boulevard and Florida Avenue,
is opposite the popular Kravis Center for the Performing Arts and CityPlace,
a new $600 million mixed-use complex with the finest shopping, restaurants,
entertainment and residential space in downtown West Palm Beach. The Center
is just one mile from Interstate 95 and three miles from gorgeous beaches and
blue waters. Three thousand guest rooms are within three miles, expanding to
five thousand guest rooms within 5 miles.
Space
The Convention Center has a total of 350,000-square-feet. The 100,000-square-foot
Exhibition Hall on the first level is easily divisible into two 50,000-square-foot
areas, and able to handle the weight of an 18-wheeler. Over 2000 people can
comfortably attend a festive banquet in the 25,000-square-foot Grand Ballroom,
which has a prefunction area and outdoor Terrace. In addition, the Center boasts
23,000-square-feet of meeting rooms/breakout space.
Telecommunications
The Convention Center will have some of the most high-tech telecommunications
capabilities in the nation. Convention goers will be able to leave the building
and stay in touch without a phone line by simply using a laptop or PDA device,
just as if they were still in the wireless Center. The meeting rooms will support
video conferencing to enable executives not attending to be included in the
meeting. Other innovations include voice and data single telephone line, telephones
with video, flat screen televisions and plasma televisions.
